White Denim

White Denim return with a new album this summer.

The Austin, Texas trio follow-up their acclaimed debut 'Workout Holiday' with 'Fits', released on June 22 through Full Time Hobby.

Singer and guitarist James Petralli dubbed the album their 'friendship record', saying of the sessions: "We were congratulating each other for having good ideas.

"We went through a lot of positive and negative things and came out of it a lot closer."

Don't miss White Denim @ The Talking Heads this July!

HAVE HEART + RISE & FALL + SHIPWRECK A.D

HAVE HEART have been over to the UK a few times in the last year or so. And have made quite an impact. But, they've missed the south coast on every trip! But not now! This is one of only FIVE UK Shows! And it's certainly the only south coast show! I think the 90mile drive to London is the closest show... and that will be in a venue twice the size of Talking Heads! But, if you like your hardcore in the vein of KILLING THE DREAM / CHAMPION / BETRAYED and the like, then HAVE HEART are certainly a band you'd want to catch. Hailing from Boston, USA, HAVE HEART play fast and punk fueled hardcore. Signed to Bridge Nine. http://www.myspace.com/haveheart RISE & FALL hail from Belgium... and play pissed off hardcore. Signed to Deathwish, it can kinda give you an indication of what to expect. Last in the UK on sold out tours with CONVERGE / ANIMOSITY and THE HOPE CONSPIRACY (which also took in a sold out Joiners show), they finally return! http://www.myspace.com/riseandfall13 SHIPWRECK AD are another Deathwish band, so again, pissed off and heavy as fuck. Hailing from Boston, USA. I literally can not wait for these guys to play. Everyone should get excited. NOW. http://www.myspace.com/shipwreckmv DEAD SWANS make their return to Southampton. After a devastatingly good set at the Joiners alongside THIS IS HELL. Their debut album will be out via BRIDGE NINE records by this point, and it's not far fetched to say these guys will possibly be the biggest hardcore band in the UK by this point. http://www.myspace.com/thedeadswans ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FROM: MORE THAN LIFE http://www.myspace.com/morethanlifehardcore (other than Ghostfest MTL arent playing ANY other UK show as they will be writing / recording! Dont miss it) OUR TIME DOWN HERE http://www.myspace.com/ourtimedownhereuk DEFIER http://www.myspace.com/defier09 There will also be a BBQ! This will be in the Garden area at the back of the venue... PEPPER

Pepper is a reggae, ska band formed in 1996 originally from Kona-Kailua, Hawaii, United States recently having moved to Southern California. They play a mix of reggae, dub, ska, and punk and are best known for their 2006 single “No Control” which was a Top 20 hit on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. Pepper’s relocation was inspired by Volcom Entertainment’s excitement and interest in producing and distributing the band’s music. “Give ‘N It” is the band’s first official release combining dancehall, reggae, punk, hip-hop, and pop. It sparked some initial interest in Warped Tour promoter Kevin Lyman. With Kevin’s interest and Volcom’s involvement Pepper graced the premiere side stage at Warped Tour 2001. Don't miss this chance to catch them up close and personal as they hit Southampton on thier World tour! THE DICKIES

Buy Tickets Here

formed in 1977 in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, The Dickies were the clown princes of punk, not to mention surprisingly longstanding veterans of the L.A. scene. In fact, by the new millennium, they'd become the oldest surviving punk band still recording new material. In contrast to the snotty, intentionally offensive humor of many comedically inclined punk bands, the Dickies were winningly goofy, inspired mostly by trashy movies and other pop culture camp.

Their covers were just as ridiculous as their originals, transforming arena rock anthems and bubblegum pop chestnuts alike into the loud, speed-blur punk-pop — basically the Ramones crossed with L.A. hardcore — that was their musical stock in trade.

As the band got older, their music slowed down little by little, but their sound and their sense of humor stayed largely the same, and they were an avowed influence on new-school punkers like Green Day and the Offspring.

JOE BROOKS

After hearing Derrin Nauendorf perform at the The Brook in Southampton at age 16. Brooks went home and taught himself to play guitar and began posting songs on Myspace. After graduation College, Brooks attended the University of Bath to study Sport before dropping out to work on his music. It was during this time that he wrote and recorded his most played song, Superman. He also released a self publish CD titled "m a y b e t o m o r r o w." When Brooks first posted his music on Myspace the social networking site was just beginning. As Brooks added more diverse and complex songs, the more "friends" and plays he got. Currently, his songs receive up to 30,000 plays a day. Brooks constantly is the number one artist on Myspace music. His last song, Superman, has had more plays than Oasis' last single While unsigned, Joe Brooks has built up a strong internet following, gathering 12 million plays on Myspace and playing to sold out shows in both the United States and Europe. Brooks spends time both in the United States and the United Kingdom. His Myspace success has allowed him to write and record with the likes of JR Rotem and Kara DioGuardi Brooks has had numerous offers for record deals, but turned them down because he hasn't felt they are the right fit. He plans on touring, writing, and recording on his own. He plans to release a new album in the summer for 2009. After the success of the last Talking Heads show this is going to sell out super fast, don't miss out!

INME

InMe formed in July 1996 with a mutual passion for all things music. Dave McPherson had been good friends with Joe Morgan since they were both cheeky little 4 year old scamps, after years of friendship the time had come to really piss off the parents...it was time to make a racket. They sought out the only drummer they knew...Sir Simon Taylor. After the very first rehearsal they all knew they would be doing this for quite some time... Gigging began anywhere & everywhere for the next few years & good times were had. InMe were eventually recognised by MFN & good things started to mountain... They released 4 singles from their debut album 'Overgrown Eden', 3 of these caused damage to the top 40 including 'Crushed like Fruit' which reached 25. 'Overgrown Eden' hit number 1 in the UK rock charts. 'DayDream Anonymous' (now recorded) is going to change any current interpretation of what InMe is for the better. Expect it later this year along witha full UK tour of course!

MUMFORD & SONS

Hyperbole, or simple fact, Mumford And Sons are a revelation. Fronted by the purity and unwavering intensity of young Marcus Mumford, a musician with a delivery so intimate that Nick Drake would be honoured to harmonise with, this band are a truly unique discovery. Coming across as if they’d been pulling heartstrings before they could barely read, the band only formed in the Christmas of 2007, bonding through a shared love of country, bluegrass, and the winsome beauty of folk. Hot off they're last tour as main support with the Maccabees, they are back in Southampton to Headline The Talking Heads!

SPUNGE

Concieved in July 1994 with almost the same line up as today (the only difference being that vocalist Alex used to double up on bass), the band went through a lengthy gestation period (adding bassist Simon Bayliss in 1995 and replacing him with local hardcore man Martin Holt in 1997) before emerging with the 'Kicking Pigeons EP' in 1998. Having sold 5000 copies at pub gigs the [spunge] boys decided that there was enough potential to jack in the day jobs and make the band a full time concern. With a career now spanning over a decade the band go for strength to strength, album to album and tour to tour! defying critics and exciting crowds all across the UK and Beyond Catch them at The Talking Heads this November!
